QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Set along the dazzling Bosphorus waterfront in the historic district of Karaköy, The Peninsula Istanbul provides a showcase for both vibrant Turkish culture and superlative hospitality within Galataport, a new waterfront revitalisation project. The hotel is comprised of four exquisite buildings – three of them historic and beautifully restored – and welcomes guests arriving by land or sea.

 Key accountabilities 
  • To perform a friendly yet discreet and unobtrusive service in greeting and waiting on all guests.
  • To perform pre-service and after-service procedures as per standard.
  • To make sure all the service items including chinaware, glassware, silverware and others are clean, polished, damage-free and ready to use before and during service.
  • Make sure hot beverage stations are ready with freshly brewed tea, coffee, fresh juices, ice sink is filled, and all areas are clean before and during the service period. Following The Peninsula standard is a must when preparing the beverages.
  • To make sure all service equipment e.g., juicer, blender, smoothie maker is clean, damage free and ready to use before and during service.
  • To make sure all service stations, side stations are clean, free from soiled plates, glasses etc. during the entire service period
  • Ensure to clean and wipe down the tables, chairs and table-top equipment as soon as guest leaves and prepare the tables for the next guest.
  • To ensure a consistency of the correct service techniques for all meal periods.
  General requirements 
  • General food and beverage knowledge.
  • Good organization skills & Time management.
  • Good hands-on service.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a Food & Beverage outlet with similar standards and expectations (Hotel based or Standalone).
  • Degree or Diploma in hotel management. 
  • Good level understanding of food and beverage knowledge.
  • Driven by precision and excellence.
